Why is a certain file type not being backed up? How can I change the file types backed up in specific folders?

By default SpeedyBackup will back up the most common audio files, documents, and pictures. In order for a particular file type to be backed up, its extension must be listed in the Global Extensions or on the Include tab of the Options page.

To change the file types you back up:

  1. Open SpeedyBackup and click Settings.
  2. Select the Options tab.
  3. Click Add File Extension
  4. Type the file extension you would like to start backing up and click OK.
  5. Click the Delete icon 'X' to remove file extensions you do not want backed up.

You can also limit folders to specific file types. For example, you can choose to include only .mp3 and .wav files in your Music folder.

To change the file types backed up in only one folder:

  1. Open SpeedyBackup and click Settings.
  2. Click the Include tab.
  3. Select a folder listed under Folders to include in the backup.
  4. Click Add File Extension to add a file type you wish to back up in the selected folder.
  5. Type the file extension you would like to back up in the folder you selected and click OK.
  6. Click the Delete icon 'X' to remove file types you do not want to be backed up in the selected folder.
